Youth & Education

• Helped initiate the skilled trades training program in partnership with Delta College to provide career training for local youth and adults.
• Fought to keep open our excellent District 2 elementary schools.
• Continued sponsorship of the West Point Elementary School Farm Project.
• Testified before the state Senate in support of Senate Bill 1139, which would help save the Rail Road Flat School and ensure continued state funding.
• Obtained grant for youth film and Web project, “Up from the Understory” with the assistance of UC Davis.
