Government & Services
- Appointed more than 70 citizens to county boards, commissions, and county service areas.
- Advocated for the Veterans Affairs Advisory Committee to involve more veterans in improving local veterans’ services.
- Played a key role in improving county administration by finding and hiring Calaveras County’s new County Administrative Officer.
- Worked with county department heads to establish six community service centers that bring needed county services to local residents, including Cal Works, mental health, and veterans services. District 2 sites include Mountain Ranch and West Point. Ours is the only district with two sites. We were the pilot project that proved the value of the program.
- Honored pledge to refuse the ill-timed supervisor auto allowance and contributed more than $8,600 to District 2 projects.
- Helping to secure school district property in Mountain Ranch for community use.
- Brought in grants and other funds to District 2 (see Economic Development and Housing).
- Kept promise to maintain weekly office hours in West Point and Mountain Ranch.
- Working with county staff and community advocates, laid the groundwork for future grants and funding by completing a successful Homeless Survey in District 2.
