Community Health
- Started and provide oversight of massive cleanup in District 2 of solid waste and recyclables. Collected and disposed/recycled 8,000 tires and 550 abandoned vehicles; removed many tons of metals, batteries, appliances, and other trash. Recruited more than 250 citizens to organize neighborhood and town cleanups in Paloma, Wilseyville, Mountain Ranch, Railroad Flat, Sheep Ranch, Glencoe, West Point, and on BLM and Forest Service land.
- Organized community effort to refurbish, cleanup, repair, and paint the Rebekkah’s Hall in West Point.
- Established grant-writing group for District 2 and sent 20 local residents to two grant-writing trainings.
- Actively supported activities of community youth groups, community clubs, and veterans’ organizations.
